Stephanie – February 8–15, 2014. 985 hPa.
The Portuguese weather institute IPMA had put the entire coast of Portugal on red alert on account of expected high seas and gale force winds, impacting the Iberian Peninsula and southern France before heading across the Mediterranean towards Italy. As a result all access points to beaches and cliffs were closed by proteção civil and police was everywhere to make sure nobody would be stupid enough to cross the lines. The storm that was underway was named Stephanie. She was a fierce lady, and she managed to do some damage here and there.
Still, there were a few spots where I was allowed to go.
These photos were taken in the Ericeira and Alvarinhos area.
